Cathryn Cofell

Cathryn Cofell

Cathryn Cofell's work is wildly published in Prairie Schooner, MARGIE, Laurel Review, Phoebe, Rattle, Free Verse, and many others. She is the recipient of numerous awards for poetry, including a Pushcart nomination, the Jade Ring from the Wisconsin Regional Writers' Association, and the Outstanding Poem designation for two consecutive years from the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. Cathryn has three previous chapbooks: Her Religion, Tiny Little Crushes, and Roadkill.

When she's not working her super-secret day job in Appleton, or chasing her super-active son around the dining room table, Cathryn is a passionate advocate for the arts. She has served as an advisor to the Wisconsin Governor for the creation of a state Poet Laureate, as founding Chair of the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Commission, as a board member of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, and as a pro-arts, pro-poetry voice whenever and wherever she will be heard. She is a frequent keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, panel presenter, and guest poet at venues throughout Wisconsin.
